Check out this video of a great street in Tours, France, captured by the Lejobart collective. Roundabouts, shared space, light rail, cars, people…oh my! How is this not the most dangerous stretch of public right of way in the world? Could it be that human beings are adaptable creatures, capable of modifying their behavior to the environment they find themselves in? And that when drivers have to interact with people on foot on a level playing field (in a literal sense in this video), it creates a safe environment for all users?
Tell your local traffic engineer to put this in their pipe and smoke it.
